If your humm application has been declined, we’re sorry but we aren't able to specify the exact reason for this. As a responsible provider of credit, we consider a number of factors as part of our assessment process. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Your repayment history with other lenders and accounts (e.g. telco, utilities and credit accounts). This helps us determine whether you can comfortably meet your repayments.
- Other information you provided which allows us to consider your application
Please note: for humm applications we take additional factors (such as income, spending and employment status) into consideration as provided by you during the application.

If you can’t see an available spend or active purchase information after successfully logging-in; please contact us on 1800 088 151 and our support team will be able to assist.
You can make early repayments on an active purchase at any time by using the Pay Now feature. You will need to have an active debit or credit card on your account to use this function.
If you do not have an active debit or credit on your account you will need to add one prior to attempting to use ‘Pay Now’. The ability to process one off additional repayments is not currently available in our App or online portal but please check back at a later.
To login to humm, you will need to reset your password.
To do this:
- On the shophumm homepage, click the “Login” button on the top right of the page and navigate to ‘forgot password’. Once logged in you will be able to see your existing transactions.
- Once you have downloaded the humm App, navigate to ‘forgot password’. Once logged in you will be able to see your existing transactions.
This is the ongoing amount you repay on each purchase – for both ‘Big things’ and ‘Little things’. For ‘Big things’ an initial deposit will be taken in store. For ‘Little things’ your deposit is taken as an upfront payment in your humm account. And remember, you’ll have no interest to pay.
No, they’re not. When you buy a ‘Big thing’ you’ll pay an establishment fee of $35 to $90 – depending on the amount you’re spending. Then you’ll pay $8 a month. For full details read your continuing credit Payment Plan agreement.
When you buy a ‘Little thing’, there are no fees if you choose to repay it back over 2.5 months. If you choose to pay over 5 months, you’ll pay $8 a month.
You will only ever pay a single $8 monthly fee regardless of the number of ongoing ‘Big things’ or ‘Little things’ Payment Plans you have.
With ‘Little things’ you can make as many purchases as long as you stay within your limit. As you spend your available spend decreases. Of course, as you repay your available spend is replenished. For ‘Big things’, your available spend can also be replenished. Just note a Repeat Purchase fee of $22 is payable on additional purchases.
Contact us immediately on 1800 088 151. We will try to find a solution that works for you. If, however, you are in default under your Payment Plan Agreement, humm may take action to recover any amounts outstanding. Unfortunately, additional fees and charges may also be payable.
You’re welcome to pay your outstanding balance at any time – just include any fees. To find your payout figure write to us via the details on Get in touch. Your account will remain open but no fees will be charged unless you make another purchase.
Once you’ve paid in full and your account balance is zero, no fees will be charged until you buy again
Of course you can. Just contact us and arrange repayment of the amount owing.
Humm is fast and simple to use no matter where you prefer to shop:
- Online, simply visit any website which displays the humm icon. Select humm at checkout and you will be taken through humm to confirm your payment.
- In store, open the humm App and generate a barcode. Simply take this to the checkout with your purchase and they will scan or input the code.

You just need to tick these boxes:
- Live in Australia
- Be at least 18yo
- Be legally allowed to sign a binding agreement
- Have a valid email address and mobile number
- Own an Australian debit or credit card
Humm realise you have two different types of spending. First, there’s everyday spending – little amounts you want to pay back fast. Then, there’s big purchases, where you need more time to repay. With humm, you can handle both quickly, easily and from the same App.
Yes, you can. We call it a boost and you can have your total increase to $2,000. You simply need to give us one-time access to your electronic bank statement. So we can make sure you’re not overstretching yourself.
You can apply for a pre-approval within your App before you shop. Just tell us how much you’d like pre-approved (up to $10,000) or let us pick an amount for you. All you need is to:
- Work 30+ hours a week or be on an aged or veteran’s pension
- Have access to bank statements if required
Because you can shop with confidence. You’ll know the maximum you can spend. Then, in store just present your barcode and your pre-approval amount will be recognised. Or online, when you log-in to humm to complete your purchase, we will recognise your pre-approved amount. Remember, pre-approval lasts 60-days, so you have plenty of time.
In some cases, we do reduce the amount we provide to you. This is an extra precaution if we know little about you – for example, if you’re new to humm. Over time, as we get to know you better, we may offer to increase your amount.
It gives you direct access to your account anytime, anywhere. You can search for stores, manage repayments, check what you’ve repaid, when payments are due and make extra repayments.
Your credit score may be checked when you sign-up to humm. But rest assured this will not affect your credit score or leave a record on your credit file.
Returns & refunds
Your first step is to contact the store who will deal with the return of your item. If they’re happy then we’ll refund what you’ve paid us and cancel future payments. Of course, any problems just call us on 1800 895 791.
